All of us that have canines face different challenges in training.  It could be how to stop your dogs whimpering.  For some it could be “how can I get this dog to stop barking”.

 Getting your dog to stop barking poses quite the obsticle because you are trying to stop something that is part of their instinct. Punishment is not an effective way of handling the situation because he isn’t barking just to be bad.

 The first step is to decide which barking behavior you would like to stop. Completely stopping your dog from barking is not something you should be shooting for. This would be next to impossible to do and it would just not be normal. Nusiance barking should be the ones you focus on first. For instance, if you leave him out back does the barking seem like it will never end? Does a knock on the door set your dog off? The list could go on and on I am sure.

 Pick the times that the barking is the biggest nuisance and then try and curb that one.

 The all night barking in the yard could be loneliness or boredom.

 There are times that the answer to the problem could be as simple as making a few changes to the environment. If your dog barks at night while outside, bring him in.

 Begin Training

 Check into clicker training for your dog. Fixing the bad behaviors of a trained dog is so much easier to do than if the dog has no training.

 Time For A Professional

 There are some dogs that are hard to figure out and a professional trainer may be required. If you decide to go with a trainer, make sure he has dealt with barking problem dogs and the breed type of your dog.

 Try, try and try some more. There is a solution and you can find it.
