When you have a dog, you need to participate in dog training. Having an untrained dog can mean having a dangerous dog, and this can put you, other animals, and people in danger. There are so many easy ways to train your dog that there is no excuse. Read below to find some tips for easy ways to train your dog.

The easiest way to partake in dog training is to start with 10 minutes a day. Give your dog 10 minutes of undivided attention where you are at their level. For these 10 minutes play with them for a little bit so they get a little bit of their energy out, and then start working on what you need to, anymore than 10 minutes and you really are stretching their attention span past where it should go.

Another great way to do dog training is through positive reinforcement. Unlike people, dogs don’t ever look back on what they did wrong, the past is the past. So, if you catch them in the act, you punish once and that is it. Otherwise, they won’t know what they did wrong. But, in order to reinforce behaviors you must use proper positive dog training. When they do what you want, repeat the command, praise them, and reward them. They will associate the good with this behavior.

If you aren’t interested in training your dog by yourself, or you’re not sure how to do it you will want to look into obedience school. Dog training in groups can be easier. You will get instruction on how to properly train your dogs, and you’ll get the support of the group. This can take some of the stress off of it.

Another dog training option is hiring a trainer to come to you. These people will show up at your home develop a plan, and help you train your dog effectively. By working in your home, they can help you with problems you are having, and see the dog in their natural setting.

Dog training is necessary to ensure that you are providing a stable home for your animal. They do not think like humans and they are not humans, so you must train them to understand. If you do not properly train your dog, you put them at risk along with others.

It is crucial that you properly train them so that they are potty trained and can sit and stay on command. They need to know that you are the alpha, and that you are in charge. Dogs are some of the best pets, but dog training is necessary to owning one.

Dogs are great pets, but dog training is a crucial part of owning one. Dog training requires follow up and lots of dedication. If you are not prepared to train your dog, you should not get one. An untrained dog is dangerous to themselves and others. You need to be able to have control over your dog at any time, and the only way to do that is by properly training them. Check into different ways to properly train your dog.

It's no secret that a dogs breath can be quite stinky. But, it's no surprise because dogs can't brush their teeth!

Everybody knows that a dogs breath can be really smelly. But, it’s no surprise because dogs can’t brush their teeth!

Taking appropriate care of your dogs teeth is important to get rid of bad dog breath, but an interesting study revealed that there might be even more pressing reasons – ones that might be important to the life of your dog.

Done at Purdue University by Dr. Larry Glickman the study included the records of over 100,000 dogs. This study included a group that had periodontal disease and an identical size group which did not. In accordance with the results of the study, dogs with gum disease have a higher rate of a particular type heart disease.

This was particularly true in the case of heart valve inflammation (endocarditis). Endocarditis was found in only .01 percent of dogs that didn’t suffer from gum disease and in .15 percent of dogs that had stage 3 periodontal disease.

So, you see it’s critical to have a good canine dental plan so as to keep your pet happy and healthy.

So, just how do you give good dental care to your dog?

It begins with cleaning your dogs teeth. It should start at home and you can purchase toothpaste specially made for dogs in addition to toothbrushes for canine teeth cleaning. It’s recommended to get in the habit of brushing daily. Daily brushing will assist in reducing tartar buildup and stave off gum disease.

You also might want to speak to your vet about scheduling a dental scaling. This dental procedure is similar to a cleaning you get at the dentist and involves scraping or scaling the tarter from your dogs teeth..

In addition there are dog chews and treats that will help with your canine dental plan. Some of the chew toys like Nylabones are made particularly to help scrape off plaque while your dog is chewing on them. There are a number of other treats that can help freshen your dogs breath.

Providing good dental care for your pet will give him the best prospect of a long, healthy life. If bacteria and plaque is left to build up on his teeth, that may lead to gum disease and also the bacteria can get into his blood stream and lead to health issues in other organs, including his heart.

Good dog dental care can help keep your dog healthy. It just takes a couple of minutes a day – isn’t your pet worth that much?.

It is challenging to train old dogs new methods and so one need to start house training a dog at an early age when he is most open to learning the correct behavior and be taught how to co-exist with his master. You will need to be patient as well as offer your pet a lot of praise before it learns how not to soil the interiors of the residence. No doubt, owning a puppy can be rewarding and fun; but, you do need to train it so that it does not do its business within the home thus not just soiling your luxurious rugs, and furniture, but also leaving a evil smell that will be difficult to get free off.

The primary thing that someone who wants to house train a dog wants is a great deal of persistence as well as a cool head. This is required since your puppy possibly will not learn right away the rules to track. It can be quite a job house training a dog and you will have to train it where to eliminate which requires you to praise your dog when it does the right thing.

It is also frequently the instance that your dog might have a willful temperament and is tenacious as well as independent which makes house training your dog tough. In those cases, you have to let the puppy know just who the leader of the pack is and also requires encouraging as well as constant scheduling. On the other hand, the dog might be of a type that is quite little and will easily disappear below furniture or get into corners where it won’t be noticed and soil while out of sight.

You have to consider to try out different house training a dog techniques including crate training as well as paper or puppy pad train the puppy. Whichever is the technique you choose, keep in mind to be consistent because if the puppy develops bad behavior it will only become that much more tough to break in the puppy once more.

When you start on the procedure of house training a dog you can also keep a log of the dog’s daily activities so that you know of its routine, which will include a time to feed it, and a time for it to relieve itself, which will help in setting a model for it to follow. Consistency in such cases will result in fast turn around times and the dog will soon become accustomed to and conscious of these routines and thus free you of the apprehension of it messing your home.

Making sure that your dogs are comfortable is something. They say that most of the pet lovers these days are going overboard right now. Well there is that need to make sure that you will let these canine do their thing, have their way of life like real kids do. There are schools for them and they are certainly not like your average students.

Just a few days back, there were news stories that talked about Conchita, the chihuahua who was inherited millions of dollars when her owner died. You could probably say that this is one lucky dog and there is no way that you will be able to do the same for your dog. But then, you know that this is never really the kind of thing that your dog needs. Aside from you caring and feeding for your dog, the little things would count as good as the millions that Cochita got. For instance, you get these padded dog harness so that your dogs will not have strained muscles from a long ride or a long walk in the park.

Why do you need to do this for your dog? Well, obviously if you were in your dog’s shoes, you would want to be comfortable. The usual type of harness could never really do them any good. There are dogs who would suffer from back pains or some scratch in their skin due to the material that was used in the harness.

If it were you, you would also have to suffer the consequences of being in one tight and uncomfortable harness right? Your dogs have feelings too, they have the nerves to feel that the harness is already causing their skin to break or their muscles to get really tight and achy. The padded dog harness is especially designed so your dogs will not have to suffer any of these problems.

Now, walking in the park will never be that tough on them. You do not have to see them with all of these things blisters and never with all of the pain in the back again. You have to be kind to your friends you know. But aside from that, here are other essentials for your dogs:

	A good shampoo. Flea and ticks might harm your dogs and you will never really want them scratching all over their bodies just so they could have that relieved feeling. The fleas are not good and thankfully, a good shampoo and a regular bath is all that is needed to take them out of the picture.
	Recommended dog diet. They have to eat nutritious food as well. Your vets would have that assessed. There are dogs that need extra nutrition, something caused by pedigree. You have to feed them the right thing so they would grow really strong.
	A safe place to stay at. Some dogs are afraid of thunder, lightning and other things. If you can keep your dogs from staying in the house, then find him or her good place to stay at, somewhere that is safe and comfortable enough.

And of course never forget about the padded dog harness. So you can go to the park as carefree and comfortable as possible.

It is really important to have padded dog harness so that your dogs will not have strained muscles from a long ride or a long walk in the park. You will definitely find the widest array of choices for it online at half the cost.

Courses in dog training are intended to help individuals and owners attain good understanding of man’s best friend. These courses are also ideal for individuals in terms of grasping the many methods of professional dog training.

Dog training can be done using many acceptable methods. Some of these are whistles, non treat methods, treat methods, clicker training and voice activation.

Dog training courses helps individuals in many ways. This ranges from basic obedience to agility and work. Specialized areas include security, law enforcement, search and rescue, hunting, and guiding dogs to help the blind.

The essence of courses in dog training is to become pack leaders. The objective of this approach is not only to train them handle their own dog, but also do the same with other dogs and even control dogs which do not belong to them. In this way, they are able to clearly instruct other dog owners how to handle their pets.

Communication is a very important aspect of dog training. Any training school and course worth its salt should place a great emphasis on communication as this will help the trainee to communicate effectively with his or her clients as he/she instructs them on how to handle their animals.

The training technique based on rewards is the most widely used training approach. The dog is generally rewarded for exemplary performance. Other institutions have adopted the non treat method which relies on heaping praises on the dog for a good job.

A dog training school or class will teach you many things. These include pulling on the lead, through to working your dog off lead. The dog training courses also usually cover how to make a dog stop jumping up or how to quiet it when barking.

The obedience courses cover the basics. Once the basics have been mastered, you can then move on to the advanced training which involves things like controlling your dog from a distance using hand signals and walking your dog off lead under complete control.

Of course, the main objective of dog training is to make you a pack leader in full control of your pet and also to teach the same to other dog owners.

Plan your dog training success by investing in quality dog training courses, learning how to train dogs effectively and safely.

Many owners grow frustrated with their canine’s inappropriate elimination. This defines a habit in which a dog will eliminate (i.e. urinate or defecate) inside the home. Assuming he is older than eight weeks and has been house-trained, this behavior is unacceptable. The challenge is curbing it.

In order to discourage your dog’s habit of soiling your home, it’s important to understand why he’s doing it in the first place. There are several possible reasons, including a host of medical conditions, marking behavior, separation anxiety, and showing submission. We’ll explore each of these factors in more detail below. We’ll clarify the reasons your canine may be eliminating inappropriately, and offer a few tips to help you curb the behavior.

Health Conditions

Dogs often suffer health problems without their owners realizing it. Some of these problems are direct contributors to house soiling. For example, your pooch may have a bladder infection or gallstones. Both can increase urination. Or, he may have Cushing’s disease, a disorder that commonly affects older canines and leads to urinary accidents.

Another common condition in senior dogs is cognitive dysfunction. This is an aging disorder that is accompanied by mental deterioration, increased thirst, and inappropriate urination. Diabetes, issues with the pancreas, and gastrointestinal problems can also play a role.

Make an appointment with the veterinarian to conduct a physical examination for your pooch. If a health issue is causing a urination or defecation problem, it should be identified and addressed as quickly as possible.

Marking Territory

Many animals mark their territory by urination. Leaving a trace of their urine behind is a way to tell others that an area belongs to the animal marking it. Both males and females do it, and learn to do so at an early age.

If you have not yet neutered your male dog, he will be much more likely to exhibit marking behavior in your home. The same is true for an unspayed female. Neutering and spaying often resolves the issue. If your canine continues to mark inside your home, clean the area thoroughly and use a product to eliminate the odor. You may need to cordon off the marking site and confine him to certain areas of your home if he persists.

Separation Anxiety

Sometimes, dogs eliminate inappropriately when their owners are away from home for long periods. As long as their owner remains nearby, the problem is nonexistent. If this describes your canine’s behavior, the issue is likely due to his suffering a degree of separation anxiety.

Does he follow you around the house? Does he appear anxious when you grab your car keys or open the garage door? Does he bark relentlessly when you leave, and greet you excitedly when you return? These are signs that separation anxiety is triggering an elimination problem. The solution involves counterconditioning and desensitization training.

Showing Submission

This problem is more prevalent with young dogs and usually dissipates with obedience training. A young canine may use urination as a way to let others know that he will be submissive to them. Sometime, this is done to show deference to a dominant animal. Other times, the behavior is less discriminatory, which can be particularly frustrating for the dog’s owner.

An effective strategy for breaking the habit is to instill a sense of confidence in your canine. This can be accomplished, in part, by avoiding confrontational training methods, playing retrieval games (e.g. fetch), and exposing him to a variety of environments. Dog treats are a valuable training tool for encouraging confidence and discouraging undesirable urination.

Regardless of the reason for your dog’s inappropriate elimination, realize that he will have accidents, even as you’re trying to curb the behavior. Avoid becoming frustrated since doing so will likely worsen the problem. This is especially true in the case of submissive urination. As with all canine behavioral issues, modification and shaping take time. The payoff is worthwhile.

An indoor dog potty is great if you can’t take your dog out for a walk or let them out in a yard all the time. If you live in an apartment building, or you can’t get out and walk your best friend, having a place for them to relieve themselves indoors is great. There are litter boxes for indoor cats so why not something for small to medium sized dogs.

You can find different styles and designs for an indoor dog potty, all of them are suitable to keep in the house and give your dog plenty of room. The variations on the style range from the upper material that your dog will step on, to how the liquid waste is collected. When pads are not enough look into a potty.

The indoor dog potty is for dogs who do not get to go outside to do their business, this way they can be comfortable relieving themselves and you do not notice an odor every time they go. Each style of potty has a pan underneath and either a grate or synthetic grass on top. The liquid waste seeps through to the pan that you can line with newspapers or Wee Wee pads so you do not notice an odor every time that your dog goes to the bathroom.

Even dog training for dummies will tell you that it will be easier to train a puppy to go on the indoor dog potty with the grate, dogs that were used to going outside will not adjust to the grate as easily since it feels very different on their paws. For an older dog who was used to going outside and if they need to start relieving themselves indoor it might be best to go with the potty that has synthetic grass on top.

You also need to take your ability to clean the potty into consideration. The pad or newspaper at the bottom of the pan, will need to changed frequently to avoid an odor. The grate may is easier to clean than the grass which needs to washed thoroughly with warm water and soap. The pan itself also needs to be cleaned to avoid bacteria and odor.

In summary, the indoor dog potty is wonderful if you need to keep your dog inside. The models with the grates will work better with a new puppy than a dog who was used to going outside, the grass model is better for them. The indoor dog potty with the grate should have pads put in the pan to help absorb the odor and liquid, and the grass model has a small collection basin that the liquid flows into and that you can pull out and clean. You know your dog best and what you think will work for you and for them is the model that you should get.

As a dog owner there are two very pertinent things that you must always remember. These are that you must prevent it from harming others and also prevent it from harming itself. If you take it through a dog training course you will almost certainly accomplish both of these successfully. Just like any other pack animal, the dog has to have some structure of authority within their environment, and you have to be the one in control

Training has to start when they are puppies and will carry on throughout their lives. They have to rely on their owner to adopt common sense boundaries. Unfortunately, there are cases when the human falls very short of the mark.

If you cannot be bothered to train your dog or get it trained professionally it is probably better that you do not get one at all. An untrained dog is a danger to everybody it meets, even the local children are at risk. If you realize that you cannot train it yourself you must find a training center that can do it for you. By continuing to own one that is untrained and liable to bite people, there is a good chance that you will be fined, and in the worst cases that the animal will be put down.

The obedience lessons will also teach the animal not to eat food unless it has been given to them by their owner. This is because every year thousands of dogs suffer from poisoning. There are many things that we do not consider as being poisonous that can mean the difference between life or death to a dog. Two very common examples of those would be chocolate and chicken bones.

Even the tiniest piece of chocolate could start a sequence of events that increase the levels of Theobromine in the dogs system that will poison it. And if they bite into a chicken bone there is a good chance that it will splinter and become lodged in it’s windpipe, which will result in them choking. So it is very important that these lessons about animal safety are learned by both the owner and the dog during these courses.

These classes have to be taken, and in time you will have a dog that you can be proud of as it will behave well and be safe around others. It will also not come into contact with unhealthy foods that can potentially cause them harm. The end result is an animal that you love and you get the unconditional love of your dog.

When you start training your dog you must remember that it will take a lot of patience on your part. You have got to remember that if you are housebreaking a puppy it will take a while before they understands what they are doing wrong. There will be quite a few accidents, and as a loving, caring owner you will have to be able to tell the difference between being authoritative, and being abusive. The time to discipline the dog for the mistake is at the time of the accident, punishing it later is totally pointless as the dog will have long forgotten what it did and it will not understand.

You will get frustrated with your pet at times, but do not let it sense your frustration or anxiety. Take a deep breath and if necessary, seek professional advice. There are a lot of dog forums that offer hints and tips on training. In the end you will have a loving bond with a dog that knows all the rules.

One of the first commands you teach your dog is the command to sit. Fortunately, this is not only easy, but a fun way to begin training your pet. This is an essential command because it could save your dog’s life if you teach it well. I won’t dwell on this, but more than one dog would have happily charged into traffic and certain death had its owner not saved it with the “sit” command.

In this article, I suggest two basic ways to train your dog to sit. If your pet is a puppy, then start at about 8 weeks. Set up a schedule, and then once you start, don’t deviate from the routine. Make sure that your training is conducted in the same manner.

When putting your pet through its paces, try to be as predictable as possible. That means that doing everything the same. As you continue training your dog, you see that this “sameness” is crucial as it allows your dog to feel safe, secure, and confident. Again, never lose patience and always give lots of praise followed by an occasional treat.

Method 1

The first thing you want to do is catch your dog’s attention. In this method, you do this by uttering your pet’s name while holding a treat in front of and just above your dog’s muzzle. Move the treat in a slow arc above and backward over its head. Your dog will want to keep its eyes on the morsel, and as it moves its head back, its rear end will reposition itself on the floor. As you see the dog begin to sit, firmly utter the command, “sit.” Follow this by praise and a treat.

Now, you will need to repeat this. You might set a 10 or 15 minute training period each day. As your puppy begins to understand, you will find that your dog will respond to the hand motion and you can begin rewarding with praise instead of a treat. In all training, you want to wean the dog away from treat rewards. Plan on spending a couple of weeks with this for reliably consistent obedience.

Method 2

Method 2 is similar to method 1 and is actually the one I prefer. This method requires that you leash your dog and have it positioned to your left. The way this works is that when you say, “sit,” you gently tug upward with leash and gently push down on the dog’s hind end. Follow the completion of the act with praise and a treat. Rinse and repeat for about 10 minutes. If you have a young puppy, consider several sessions of 5 to 10 minutes throughout the day.

When you want to get your dog training certification your first priority should be finding the right school, one that offers courses that are recognized by the national association.

When you want to get your dog training certification your first priority should be finding the right school, one that offers courses that are recognized by the national association. If not you will not be able to take your certificate everywhere and find a job, you will be limited to finding one through that school.

When you want to find a good training program look for one that covers the following topics, a history of dog training, animal learning, dog behavior and courses in designing a business. If these are not covered, the school is not offering everything you need to become a good dog trainer.

The CCPDT or Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers is the most esteemed national organization in the U.S. When you want to be a good dog trainer that is recognized everywhere, this certification is what you will want to get. Make sure the school that you attend teaches all of the courses that you will need to be able to get this certification.

Out of the many dog training careers that are available, one of the most lucrative is working with dogs in the field of law enforcement. When you have your dog training certification, you can take specialized course to learn the methods needed used for the K-9 units. There is a higher demand for certified dog trainers in this specialty.

After receiving your dog training certification you will not only be able to do the job you love, working with dogs in vets offices or shelters and kennels, but if you had the right courses, you will also be prepared to open your own business. You can set your own schedule, make your own fees and give others the opportunity to work for you.

Dog training is a very rewarding career for the right person. If you have been a dog lover all of your life do not think that the only career with animals is becoming a veterinarian. You can get great satisfaction by helping people train their puppies or taking an unruly dog and having them go home an obedient pet. You also get the added benefit of making the owners very happy.

It is amazing how the new television shows have shown people, that life is better with a well behaved dog. Many people have signed their dogs up for classes after seeing how other dogs behave so well when they are trained properly. After you receive your dog training certification you will be able to help these people know what it is like to share their life with a well trained dog and a best friend.
