Barking Dog Training – Stop Your Dog From Nuisance Barking

Continuous dog barking can be one of the worse things that we have to endure.   It`s a bigger problem if it`s our dog doing the barking.   This kind of behaviour can cause accusations from the neighbours that our dog is out of control and can be the cause of major fallouts.   However barking dog training is not difficult with the right equipment.

We do not want our dog to stop barking altogether, that would be like expecting a human being never to talk.   Also there is no better burgler alarm than a barking dog.

Your dog needs to know when it is right to bark but then stop on command, in other words we need to be able to control our barking dog.    Like humans, dogs `speak` for many reasons and the majority of these are legitimate.   Dogs bark because they are excited, to alert  attention and to convey a message.    Barks can be legitimate – alarm, playful, need and command all come into this category.   Continuous barking is a behavioural problem.

With persistence your dog could be trained to bark on command and as a by product of this, to be quiet on command.   Most of us do not have the time to do this so there are a few things which can provide immediate resolution to the barking dog problem.

1 Ultrasonic.
These emit an ultrasonic sound when the dog barks which humans can’t hear but which distracts the dog.   There are several versions of these; collars, stand alone and hand held devices.   Collar devices react whenever the dog barks   Stand alone devices are placed either in your garden or home   A bonus of this device is that it can be used to intetrupt your neighbour’s dogWith handheld ultrasonic devices you simply press the button when you want to deliver a correction.   When you are out walking these can be useful if you are worried by barking dogs.

2 Spray Devices.
Citronella bark collars are spray devices.   They spray citronella when your dog barks and most dogs do not like it so it provides negative reinforcement every time.

3 Electronic.
Professional dog trainers consider electronic bark collars to be a fast and effective solution to nuisance barking.   Some still believe that there is something cruel or inhumane about electronic collars.   Electronic collars are now very sophisticated and much safer than when they were first introduced A mild shock is administered to the dog.   The first and mildest shock is triggered by the dog’s first bark The shock is increased slightly if the dog bark again within 30 seconds otherwise it resets   The shock is gradually stepped up to its 6th and final level if the dog continues to bark   There are lots of safety measures built in now, for instance, if your dog barks fifteen times during a period of 50 seconds the collar shuts off for three minutes and resets.

So that is all there is to it.   Barking dog training is not difficult with the right tools.   Use one of the three devices described above and you can stop dog barking almost immediately without any expert knowledge.

Dog Training – Most Dogs Need Training And Here’s Why

So you finally have the life of your dreams. You have a loving family, good job, nice house, and the dog to round it all out.

You wake up bright and early but you have a big smile on your face. You have an entire hour of peace and quite all to yourself to wake up and get ready for work before you have to get the kids up. You start a fresh pot of coffee quietly singing towards yourself. The wonderful smell of coffee is starting to waft around the house and you can not help but to think to yourself how incredibly lucky you are.

You happen to notice that your neighbor is taking their little brown dog out for a walk. Your thinking how nice to be out so early for some fresh air and a bit of exercise. Then out of nowhere your dog comes pounding through the kitchen and to the window. The hair on his back is raised and he lets out a low growl. Before you can get to him he is in full fled barking mode and there is nothing you can do to prevent him from waking up the whole house.

As you are desperately trying to make him hush up the baby starts crying, and the older children drag themselves out of their beds to see what is going on. All you can do is look at your children because you know that within a few minutes the house will be in full gear and you have yet to drink your first cup of coffee, let alone enjoy any of your quite time while you got ready for work. All hopes of having a calm start to the day has just disappeared.

That’s it you think. That dog needs dog training, barking at all hours of the day has got to go.

The desire to get your dog trained has stayed with you throughout work. You are a bit on the frazzled side all through work. As soon as you pick up your children after work you realize that they are on the verge of becoming very overtired. Well, how can you blame them, they are not used to getting up that early. You make it home with as little fuss as possible and file them all through the door.

As you walk through the door your dog comes flying at you to show you just how much you were missed today. You barely manage to stay upright as he jumps on you. You have a new demand to add to your dog training, jumping has to go as well. You manage to calm your dog down long enough for him to stop jumping and then you see it… right in the middle of your living room carpet your dog has dug a big hole.

You quickly find your dog with murder in your eyes and take notice that your children are slowly crowding around the dog. They are all pleading with you with their eyes to not be mad at the dog. Because after all, the dog didn’t really mean to put a hole in the carpet and he is of course really very sorry.

All you can think is that dog is a nuisance but there is nothing you can do. The children are head over heals in love with their dog and in truth, so are you. Regardless, you have to stop your dog digging holes especially in the middle the living room floor. That is when dog obedience training comes into play. The best way to get your dog to behave is to train him to do so.
